KOYN

KOYN offers a multifaceted Asian dining experience nestled in Grosvenor Street, housed in what was formerly both the US Embassy and Canadian High Commission.

KOYN Japanese opened its doors in 2022 as a contemporary izakaya offering modern Japanese cuisine, inspired by the land of the rising sun. Enhancing this unique experience, recently opened KOYN Thai introduces complex flavours, aromatic spices and celebrated cooking techniques inspired by the diverse regions of Thailand.

KOYN creates a cosmos of duality and compatibility, balancing the modern and innovative with tradition, from the East Asian archipelago of Japan to the Kingdom and Provinces of Thailand. KOYN’s philosophy places value on subtlety and detail through an amalgamative lens where art, design and tradition meet culinary craftsmanship.

Featuring the timeless artistry of Japanese cuisine elevated by a contemporary approach, KOYN Japanese Executive Chef Rhys Cattermoul presents a menu that reflects Mount Fuji’s natural duality, with responsibly sourced produce and delicate umami flavours. Set on the ground floor, the space embodies the landscape of Japanese Zen gardens, with a boutique sushi bar as the centrepiece of the dining room.

KOYN Thai welcomes Bangkok-born and Paris-based Chef Rose Chalalai Singh as she brings her heartfelt and fiery approach to home-style Thai cooking. The nostalgia-inspired menu celebrates contemporary dishes with classic flavours capturing the essence of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and the central provinces. Discreetly tucked below, KOYN Thai occupies the restaurant’s dimly lit subterranean space, transformed with Thai flourishes. Artistic works by Chiang Mai and printmaker Kitikong Tilokwattanotai sit alongside rare antiques, that lead to an open kitchen spectacle. Here dishes are crafted and cooked over a live fire, set against black oak ceilings, terracotta tiles and hand-painted tapestries.

As guests journey through the realms of Japan and Thailand, KOYN Bar bridges the gap between the two contrasting dining experiences, while retaining its izakaya-essence. Designed for camaraderie and convergence, it promises lasting memories with its innovative mixology. Indulge in a handpicked curation of cocktails, liquors, and beers sourced from Japan and Thailand, all while the walls whisper one sentiment: come hungry and stay late.
